On Friday 29th March 2019 the parents had an afternoon enjoying tea and cakes. A Group of mums decided to hold a tea party as a celebration for Mothering Sunday. They made cakes and brought them in and shared all with the other mums and volunteers. It was a very successful event and the parents hope to do it again in the future. Perhaps with a savoury theme.

Walk the Test Way 2018

Parents  Sister_Catherine  Medal_presentation
On Sunday 14th October parents Colette and Leighanne walked 8 miles and volunteer Sister Catherine walked 5 miles along the Test Way for RFSG,  from Horsebridge Station and Mottisfont Church respectively, back to the memorial park in Romsey, where they were met by Joan and John with a well deserved cup of tea/coffee and cake. The weather was wet, making the conditions rather muddy. Thank you to Colette, Leighanne and Sister Catherine for walking for our charity, giving up their Sunday and to Joan and John for meeting the walkers with refreshments. Of course without the Rotary Club of Romsey Test putting on this fantastic event it would not be possible to fundraise for our Group so thank you to everyone at Rotary Club of Romsey Test who give up their time to organise and host Walk the Test Way. To date 299.00 has been collected with some of this amount going directly to the Rotary Club of Romsey Test Charity fund.

Beach Trips 2018

Children, parents and volunteers from Romsey Family Support Group enjoyed, two sun soaked days, at Hengistbury Head on Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th July 2018.

On Monday 23rd two mini buses left the Appletree Centre in Romsey and headed to Mudeford Quay. A short ferry crossing was made across the water, to the beach at Hengistbury Head. Children, parents and volunteers had a wonderful day playing in the sand and splashing about in the sea. We caught the ferry back to Mudeford Quay at 3.45pm and we were all treated to a much needed ice cream to help cool us down. We arrived back at the Appletree Centre at approximately 5.45pm worn out and ready for a good nights rest.

On Tuesday 24th a minibus and 2 cars set off at 9.15am to Mudeford Quay, the day was much the same as the previous day but with different families, although some families enjoyed the day before so much, we managed to organise it so they could come again, by taking two cars.

These two days would not have been possible without the wonderful donation received from Romsey, Chandlers Ford & District Round Tablers, Unity for Transport mini buses, Will a volunteer driver for Unity and Fred who at very short notice undertook Midas training organised by Unity to be able to drive a mini bus for both days. Thank you to Georgina & Dr Peter Burrows for the use of their beach hut which was very welcome especially giving us somewhere to shelter from the scorching heat and make hot and cold drinks.  Thank you also to the volunteers who gave up their time to join us for a day at the beach, although with the glorious weather it certainly was no hardship and probably the best place to be.

Thank you so much to everyone who helped in any way in the lead up and on the day of this popular event. Thank you to everyone who supported us by purchasing tombola tickets and/or having a go on the lucky dip.

Paultons Park 2018

On Sunday 17th June families and volunteers enjoyed a day out at Paultons Park courtesy of The Lions Club of Romsey. Thank you so much to the Romsey Lions who work tirelessly throughout the year raising money to ensure less able and disadvantage children get to experience a wonderful day out with their family, many of whom would not be afford a day such as this.
